Anti Mosquito Incense

Just when you think that some objects cannot come in any other shape, you can be easily proved wrong simply by being elsewhere. As we had dinner in an Italian restaurant called 100 feet in Bangalore, I was stunned by the shape of the Anti-Mosquito Incense casually placed right next to me.
The reason why I was so shocked was, in Japan, the product only comes in a circles, without any kind of angles involved. Apart from the Japanese members of the research team, no one seem to notice how surprising this is.
Functionality is the same, utility is the same, save for the execution in production.

They are infact circular. But this hexagonal is dubbed as new and revolutionary design which releases special chemicals every time an edge on the hexagon is burnt. (a doubt comes again, why cant we put the same chemicals in circular coil itself?) or Is it just a marketing trick to give impression to the customers that its a new product line. (the infamous old wine in a new bottle).

Wow, thank you for the information. Well, even if that is the case, we found it fascinating to encounter something like this during out trip to Bangalore: someone thought of creating a new design out of something that we thought that the shape would never change. Indeed, there is a question whether this would be an invention to stay.
Thank you for the link, too!
