Lismo is an online music service provided by a mobile operator, Au. Using their brand color, and the squirrel with a headset, they created micro SD cards, card adapters.

Separately, they also sell a USB card reader in a shape of a squirrel on a piano. The squirrel part is only a cover for the USB port underneath, and you should be able to read cards by inserting them from the bottom. The whole thing looks like a large key chain, and of course, you can hang from your phone as a strap.

It is extremely cute, and I could not resist and ordered online. But I wonder how many people have the passion to purchase such trinkets? The character must have appeal to teenagers, but I'm not quite sure if memory cards have a show-off factor, when there isn't much opportunity to show them off.

Or perhaps there is in Japan, where more people use Internet via mobile rather than from computers. Take photos, download images, back up or exchange them with friends using this tiny memory SD cards.

I will try to follow up on this, to see how data transfer takes place in this mobile-centric country.
